100K, 65K and 17K routes.

Starting Location:

Calvert Marine Museum 
Solomons, Maryland

Pre-registration:

$30, $16 (children 12 & under with adult)

Cost after April 27:

$35, $20 (children 12 & under with adult)

8-11 am, rain or shine

 Last sweep starts at 4 pm

The 2004 Tour de Solomons Maryland Metric Century bike tour showcases the charm and beauty of Southern Maryland’s historic Calvert County.

 

A 65K loop is less hilly than the 100k loop and is a wonderful opportunity for family members to participate in a refreshing ride.  This course (and the 100K) offers an opportunity to visit a unique ecological area, Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary & Nature Center.  The nature center has a boardwalk that beckons one to take a stroll in search of local wildlife, interesting bird species, and unusual trees.  The 17k ride offers a great family outing staying around the Solomons area with a rest stop at Anne Marie Gardens.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Tour de Solomons Maryland Metric Century begins and ends at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, Md.  Please see the map for directions to the packet pickup and starting line.  Registration and check-in will begin Friday June 11th at the Patuxent Adventure Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and again on ride day from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Last start time is 11 a.m. and the last sweep will begin at 4pm. The ride is a fully-supported ride with rest stops, refreshments, sag wagons, cue sheets, even showers! T-shirts are guaranteed for everyone who pre-registers by May 21st.  Pre-register today!

The 2004 Tour de Solomons Maryland Metric Century T-shirt is 100% Cotton for your comfort! This is a high-quality shirt with an exciting color design supplied by Embroid Me located in the Solomons Town Center.

 

PRE-REGISTRATION

The Solomons Business Association and the Patuxent Adventure Center offers a price break and guarantees a T-shirts for each rider who pre-registers.  Pre-registration will close on May 21st, 2004. Important:  Due to screen-printing considerations, T-shirts can only be guaranteed with paid pre-registration.  Don’t lose your shirt!  Register today!

YOUNG RIDERS

The Solomons Business Association and the Patuxent Adventure Center offers a discount for riders age 12 and under.  See the registration form for details.  Cyclists, age 16 and under, must be accompanied by an adult during the ride, and all riders under age 18 must provide a release signed by a parent or guardian. Release forms will be available at registration.

 

HELMETS

Patuxent Adventure Center believes safety is a TOP priority! Helmets are required at all times on this ride.
